When installing wood flooring in a home, purchase it at least several weeks before you are planning to install it. When cutting plywood or other types of sheet wood, take care to protect the finishing face. To do this, if you are hand sawing the wood, have the finished face of the wood facing up. If you are using a power saw, have the face downwards. This will help to protect the face from possible damage.
