Ask for references from past customers from the flooring contractors that you take bids from. Be meticulous about contacting the references and take the time to inspect, first hand, previous work performed by each flooring contractor.
Your local flooring supply stores and building supply stores may have a list of flooring contractors that they recommend. You can also speak to general contractors, who are an excellent source of quality flooring contractors.
Do your homework when comparing bids from flooring contractors. Compare labor rates and material prices.
