When interviewing home builders prior to awarding your project, ask each builder to give you a complete rundown of their safety, ethics and quality assurance practice.
Ask each home builder who bids on your job to provide you with copies of their licenses and registrations. Also ask how long each has been in business and how many employees their company has and if any of them are bonded.
Contact The Better Business Bureau and local building organizations to verify the reputations of the home builders you are considering. You should also contact the State Licensing Board to make sure their licenses are in good standing and if there have been any complaints file against them with the Board.
